The Re-Fridgee-Eighter marks the beginning of the annual Run Waterloo racing calendar. It offers runners an opportunity to test their fitness after a winter of rest or training. Since 1998, this race strives to maintain a community-focused and family-friendly environment.

Join the annual BDO Run for Youth (formerly run as the Lacombe Half Marathon), Whether this is your 10th half marathon or first 5k, you won’t want to miss out on this fun and exciting event.  The run will be a continuation of the Lacombe Half Marathon, but on an exciting new course along the trail system between Lacombe and Blackfalds. Fee(s) $60-80 (Half); $40-60 (10K/5K/3K) Charity Central Alberta Youth Unlimited and the Boys & Girls Club

A 3K, 5K, and a 10K walk/run to promote healthy living and family participation. This event also brings awareness to domestic violence and encourages everyone to speak out against it. Fee(s) $50 (10K); $30 (5K); $20 (3K)

The Amherst Valentine Run is a fun event designed to encourage the continued advancement of physically activity in the community. Choose between 1K, 3K, 5K, 10K or Half Marathon distances. Be prepared for winter running conditions, and enjoy a hot Post-Race Meal. Fee(s) $50-60(Half); $40-50 (10K); $30-40(5K); $25-35 (3K)

The Grimsby Half Marathon is part of the Niagara Running Series. It is a fast and scenic course running through downtown, lakefront, and orchards areas of Grimsby. The run is a perfect tune-up race for the Around the Bay Road Race in Hamilton. Race on the Sunday and spend Family Day Monday recovering with your family! Held annually on the Thanksgiving long weekend, Ottawa Fall Colours takes place at the Cumberland Heritage Village Museum just east of Ottawa and features a number of family-friendly running events and pre- and post-race festivities.  The marathon course is in fact a 21K out-and-back style loop that marathoners must complete twice and features a scenic backdrop to the nation’s capital.    

The Winterman Marathon, Relay, Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, and 3K are all an official event of Ottawa’s biggest and best winter festival…. Winterlude. The course runs out and back on the Sir John A. MacDonald Parkway, when the weather permits, affords a view of the nation’s capital from alongside the Ottawa River. Be sure to dress warm as it is almost always frigid this time of year. Fee(s) $120 (Marathon); $95 (Half): $57 (10K); $50(5K); $40 (3K)  

This welcoming event invites participants and their families to Carleton-sur-Mer on the shores of Baie-des-Chaleurs. The courses start and finish in Parc Germain-Deslauriers and run out-and-back along the shores of the bay affording scenic views. There are a few major hills on the otherwise flat marathon course and fresh refreshments at the finish.    

The Waterloo Classic is Waterloo Region’s oldest and largest 10k race. The Father’s Day tradition began in 1978 and is still going strong, bringing families and the running community in general together for a fun summer morning. This race offers a strong and supportive community, live band, competitive field, great food and prizes, finisher medals, and much more.
