Toronto’s signature running event is the Toronto Waterfront Marathon. Offered as part of the Canada Running Series, #TWM, was the first Canadian marathon to be awarded the prestigious IAAF gold label status. All races are flat, fast and festive attracting elite, recreational and first-time runners alike. The marathon and half courses start and finish near City Hall and take participants on a tour of some of Toronto’s most iconic attractions, notable landmarks and unique neighbourhoods.      

A late-season event in Quebec’s Eastern Townships, Marathon de Magog is a scenic small town event. The marathon is a double loop which takes participants around downtown Magog, and then on a scenic and occasionally hilly route through the surrounding countryside. Small town charm and fresh country air provide a nice alternative to the larger, big city events, and the overall atmosphere definitely creates a unique and memorable event.      

PEI Marathon weekend is a two-day event that includes categories for every runner or walker in the family. The Prince Edward Island Marathon is one of the most scenic marathon routes in the country, running over rolling hills and through the beautiful fall colours. The run begins at the Brackley entrance in PEI National Park and run along the Gulf Shore Parkway. The route then takes runners through scenic farmlands and along the Confederation Trail, ending in historic Downtown Charlottetown. Held annually on the Thanksgiving long weekend, Ottawa Fall Colours takes place at the Cumberland Heritage Village Museum just east of Ottawa and features a number of family-friendly running events and pre- and post-race festivities.  The marathon course is in fact a 21K out-and-back style loop that marathoners must complete twice and features a scenic backdrop to the nation’s capital.    

Held annually on the Thanksgiving weekend, the Trapline Marathon showcases the heritage and community spirit of Labrador. The point-to-point marathon course is unique in both its challenging course and spectacular seasonal scenery along the way from the start in North West River to the finish in Happy Valley-Goose Bay. At the finish participants enjoy refreshments including a buffet of traditional Labrador food.    

For 2022, The Royal Victoria Marathon is back to hosting the marathon, half marathon, 8K and kids run.  For over 40 years the Victoria Marathon has given runners the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the area and experience the wonderful community spirit of the City of Victoria. The in-person event will be subject to Provincial Health Orders at the time of the race.
