West Van’s annual summertime 5K & Mile happens as part of West Vancouver’s Bridge Festival. The 5K route is nice and flat, making it the perfect course for both crushing personal bests and just enjoying. ** 2020 event cancelled

The Runners Soul Fifth Ave Mile is a run and festival in the heart of Lethbridge to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Runner’s Soul (Lethbridge’s specialty running store). Runners will enjoy a fast, flat route down Fifth Avenue South, finishing on the Civic Track. Plan to spend the day and invite your friends and family to the post race festivities at the Civic Track including food trucks and vendors. Fee(s) $20-25

The Prediction Mile  is a great warm up the upcoming racing season – indoors! And, at whatever pace suits you best. The Event is fun concept, predict your time to run one mile on the track, and the runner who is closest to their prediction, wins! No timing devices allowed though!

A Canada Day tradition, Canada Day Limestone Mile is organized and supported by the Kingston Road Runners Association in support of its charitable causes. It’s four short races in one morning with team competition as well. The course for this classic race distance is two loops finishing in front of Boucher Park.    

The Harriers Bob Reid Magical Mile is hosted at Thetis Lake Park, using the gnarly trails north of Upper Thetis Lake. The course is rugged with hills, boulders, roots, puddles, a creek crossing, and bedrock. This is a time trial format where every runner will start at 10 second intervals to spread out the field on the course so it is just you running against the clock with little or no passing. The Edmonton High Street Mile race was initially conceived as a series of 1-mile races along the straight and flat, 102 Avenue to Edmonton’s High Street shopping centre to draw attention to the merchants. The High Street Mile now combines an individual Mile race, a kids 1/4 Mile, and a corporate team challenge all to fund-raise for the Alberta Medical Association’s Youth Run Club. ** 2020 event postponed

The ANE Mile is an annual mile event hosted by the Athletics NorthEAST running club. This course has been designed to be fast and safe. The race begins beside the Bandstand on Quidi Vidi Lake and runs down the Boulevard to finish just past the bridge at the end of the Lake. It is net downhill, with no uphill sections, and only one gentle curve, so it should produce your best mile times.    

The Islendingadarurinn 10 Mile Road Race is the flattest, fastest, point to point race course in Manitoba. Race day registration and the starting point will be in Winnipeg Beach. The course travels north along Hwy #9 to Gimli and finishes at the pavilion park. **2020 event will be a virtual race    

Part of the Bread and Honey festival, the Streetsville Mile, down Main Street from Britannia and Queen to Church, is fast, flat, and furious and lined with a few thousand friends to witness and cheer you on. If you don’t finish in less than 12 minutes, no medal, no time, only a DNF and a polite request to step to the sidewalk.
