The Beat to Snot Trail race is a super sweet singletrack (plus many other excellent trails that barely touch the open ski runs) at Ski Wentworth. This challenging event has a lot of elevation gain, roughly 675m per loop, and vertical climbs, don’t be afraid…everybody walks up most of these hills. The 19K route is two loops of the course, and 9.5K is one loop. Fee(s) $50

Part of the Courir à Québec running series, le Défi des Escaliers de Quebec covers each and every step connecting the lower and upper towns of old Quebec City.  Alternately climbing one staircase and descending the next, participants get to run about 30 staircases and a total of more than 3,000 steps. All races start and finish in the Parc du Bois de Coulonge. In addition to overall winners, there are awards for the best climbers and sprinters.
